This hands-on art documentation workshop will teach our members how to document their individual artworks or exhibitions. Facilitator Jackson Klie will cover basic steps in creating an efficient workflow for documenting artwork. Topics covered will include: camera setup, lighting, handling glare, file management, post production, and tips for documenting wall mounted, installation, sculptural, and media works. Folx are welcome to bring their own DSLR camera or use the ones provided.
This documentation workshop will take place at Hamilton Artists Inc., with media equipment provided by Factory Media Centre. Open to Hamilton Artists Inc. and Factory Media Centre members. Spots are limited, so please email Mashal Khan at community@theinc.ca as soon as you can.

Jackson Klie is an image-based artist living and working in Toronto, Canada. In addition to his artistic practice, he has spent several years working in various photographic archives with a focus on digitization and documentation. He holds a BFA in Photography Studies from Ryerson University and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of Guelph. Recent exhibitions include Bent Atlas, a Featured Exhibition in the 2019 Contact Photography Festival, and Cognizance at Birch Contemporary in Toronto.
Factory Media Centre is a not-for-profit artist-driven resource centre dedicated to the production and promotion of creatively diverse forms of independent films, videos, and other streaming multimedia art forms. Their mission is to develop and support a vibrant, sustainable, creative, and diverse community of Members within Hamilton and its surrounding region, who are involved or interested in the art, the craft, and the technologies, of motion picture media.
