Please join us for a free Grant Writing Workshop led by artist Nedda Baba on Thursday, July 9th beginning at 6:00 pm.
Nedda will lead us through a presentation about grants and applying for grants, address specific questions, and give helpful industry tips and tricks. Participants will be given time to write a mock proposal, and review these proposals as a group. This workshop is for artists of all career levels; for emerging artists who may be planning to write their first grant, and established artists looking for a refresher or advice.
This workshop will cover:
– An overview of the main granting bodies
– How to write a grant proposal
– Application support materials (CV, artist bio, artist statement(s), artwork documentation)
How to attend:
To participate in the workshop, please register by emailing info@factorymediacentre.ca. If you would like to observe the presentation, the call will be streamed to Facebook live. Following the workshop FMC staff, Kristina and Vic will be available for a limited number of one-on-one Grant Proposal Review Sessions between July 13-17.
Nedda Baba is a Toronto-based artist. Her work is reflective of personal narratives and how they subvert the perceived objectivities of dominant discourses in the media, culture, gender, and queer spaces. Her practice vacillates between images, found objects, performances, and interactive installations. She has exhibited and performed in various spaces across the GTHA. Nedda is a graduate of the MFA program at York University, where she also completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts. During the day, she works as a Digital Imaging Specialist at Toronto Image Works.
