Callie Archer, Lesley Cordero and Claudette Losier employ abstraction to reveal reflections on nature and memory while evoking a sense of place. When looking at their work, viewers are invited to leave objectivity behind and enter the world of the artwork.
Callie Archer interprets nature, patterns and contrasts to evoke balance, texture and memories. As a colourist, Callie applies encaustic and acrylic paint to radiate her passion for colour on abstracted landscapes and textured surfaces resulting in a delightful merging of energy and tranquility.
Lesley Cordero is an emergent abstract painter based out of Hamilton, Ontario, whose current studio practice focuses on exploring non-objectivity. Her work allows the viewer to become part of the process, to respond emotionally to the textured brushwork and expressive colours juxtaposed against layered atmospheric spaces inviting contemplation and quiet reflection.
Claudette Losier holds an Honours BA in Fine Arts from Brock University (1989). She has had numerous one person and group shows in Ontario and won numerous awards in Juried Shows including best in show and Toronto City Purchase Award. She has four bodies of work: florals, swimmers, city scapes and photo Transfer Art.
