Hamilton, November 20, 2018: The Board of Directors of Hamilton Artists Inc. is thrilled to announce that Julie Dring will be taking on the role of Executive Director. Julie will begin her tenure in this position this week.
Julie is an arts administrator with a background in artifact preservation and collections management. She has worked in several museums, archives and galleries over the last ten years including the Photography Department at the Art Institute of Chicago. She holds a Master of Arts in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management from Ryerson University. Her master’s thesis focused on archival materials related to the Hackney Flashers, a radical photography collective, active in 1970s North-East London, England.
As Executive Director, Julie will work collaboratively with the Programming Director and the Board of Directors. She will be responsible for the operational, developmental, and financial management of the organization, in accordance with the strategic and operational plan.
We’re very happy to have Julie join our team and look forward to introducing her to our members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 1st, 6 pm.

Hamilton Artists Inc. (The Inc.) is committed to the presentation of contemporary art and related cultural practices. The Inc. facilitates a national dialogue surrounding issues in contemporary art through exhibitions, publications, performances, education and outreach projects. The Inc. is dedicated to upholding professional standards for artists and pays CARFAC fees for exhibitions and activities presented in and through our main exhibition space.
